Quality Assurance Unit
Unit Tasks
1- Supervising the completion of quality-related work and coordinating work with department heads, division and unit officials, and liaison members at the institute.
2- Preparing follow-up minutes of the University Quality Assurance Council meeting and circulating them to the departments to implement their paragraphs.
3- Reviewing and updating the institute’s strategy, mission, and strategic objectives in light of developments and updates to develop and modernize higher education.
4- Follow-up and implementation of the institute’s plan regarding quality assurance in order for the institute to obtain academic accreditation that enhances the quality of the educational process at the institute.
5- Follow-up and preparation of files and forms for the national classification of the quality of Iraqi universities and follow-up of the results.
6- Preparing improvement plans to develop and raise the level of performance of the departments.
7- Spreading the culture of quality by holding seminars and workshops held by the department
8- Establishing the foundations, rules, and procedures for periodic monitoring and follow-up to implement quality assurance and accreditation standards and preparing self-evaluation reports.
9- Proposing university performance standards and quality control for the components of the educational process related to the university professor, curricula, laboratories, university infrastructure, and university students.
10- Supervising the exchange of information with specialized educational bodies and comparing the standards applied in their universities with those applied in them and working to develop them.
11- Proposing and establishing work procedures, rules and guidelines to develop and improve performance in a way that contributes to ensuring the quality of the institute’s performance
Performance Evaluation Unit means estimating the efficiency of teachers and affiliates in their work and their behavior in it, and it is an official system designed to measure and evaluate the performance and behavior of individuals during work through continuous and organized observation of this performance and behavior and its results, during specific and known time periods. It is a periodic report that shows the level of performance of the individual and the type of his behavior compared to the tasks and duties of the job assigned to him. It helps officials to know the weaknesses and strengths in the activity of that individual. The desired goal of this is to address the weakness, if any, and to support the strengths as well. This concept focuses on actual performance in light of the requirements of his job, and the achievement expected of him to perform.
Laboratory Accreditation Unit:
It is the unit responsible for improving the status of laboratories in scientific, research and medical institutions to be within high and international standards and specifications. Ensuring the quality of laboratories will benefit institutions and this institution or university will be among the advanced universities as it will work to master the work of laboratories to conduct accurate scientific, engineering and medical measurements and tests accredited by all international institutions and to provide the best in the field of scientific research and advanced scientific studies.
The tasks of the Laboratory Accreditation Unit are:
Monitoring and auditing laboratory specifications with the requirements of approved standard specifications.
Determining the technical specifications of devices and equipment, coding them and documenting their data in coordination by laboratory officials with laboratories at the institute and other institutes and universities.
Following up on the implementation of calibration programs for devices and equipment with relevant parties.
Coordinating to open scheduled courses to train laboratory workers.
Coordinating with the Laboratory Accreditation Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to improve and develop laboratory performance to achieve laboratory accreditation by one of the specialized authorities.
6. Taking the necessary measures to activate the procedures and requirements determined by the Laboratory Accreditation Team in the field.
7. Conducting an effective internal audit of random samples in laboratories and through self-efforts to determine the efficiency of the tests from time to time.
