Al-Mussaib Technical Institute holds a course on chemicals and safety in chemical laboratories
The course included:
1. Introduction to chemicals
– Definition of chemicals and their types (liquids, gases, solids).
– Reading and understanding chemical safety data (MSDS).
2. Safety in chemical laboratories
– Basic safety rules in the laboratory.
– Good practices for working in the laboratory (such as maintaining cleanliness and order).
– The importance of using protective equipment such as gloves, goggles, and masks.
3. Hazard control
– How to identify potential hazards (such as toxic, flammable, and explosive materials).
– How to reduce risks while handling chemicals.
– Methods of storing chemicals safely.
4. Emergency procedures
– How to act in the event of accidents (such as leaks or chemical burns).
– The importance of having rescue means such as eye washers and first aid centers.
– Contacting the competent authorities in emergency situations.
Present in the training course: Hadeer Amer, instructor Safa Nihad, and instructor Shaima Alawi, with the participation of a number of students from Al-Mussaib Technical Institute.
