The Al-Mussaib Technical Institute at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University held a training course entitled “Sustainable Development and its Uses in Soil, Water, and Land Reclamation,” with the aim of raising environmental awareness and disseminating concepts of sustainable natural resource management.
The course included several topics, most notably:
– Introduction to the principles of sustainable development and their scientific applications.
– Protection of soil from degradation and enhancement of its productivity.
– Rationalization of the use of water resources in agricultural activities.
– Reclamation of degraded lands using the latest environmental methods and technologies.
The course was moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohsen Abdullah, with the participation of a group of institute members. The course was held in a scientific and interactive atmosphere aimed at building the participants’ capacities and developing their skills in vital fields directly related to the agricultural reality in Iraq.
This initiative reinforces academic efforts aimed at establishing sustainability as a practical approach to education and practice.
