Dr. Marwa Hassan, a lecturer at Al-Mussaib Technical Institute – Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, participated in the Scientific Conference on Administrative and Economic Sciences held at Kut University, under the title:
“Artificial Intelligence, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainability: Strategic Visions and Digital Transformations to Enhance Creativity and Competitiveness in Economics and Administrative Sciences.”
During the conference, she presented a scientific paper titled:
“Leadership that Touches the Core: A Journey to Explore the Role of Authentic Leadership in Enabling Dynamic Capabilities in the Iraqi Industrial Environment – Al-Furat Company as a Model.”
The research examined the relationship between authentic leadership and the empowerment of dynamic capabilities in industrial organizations, by analyzing the case of Al-Furat Company as a practical example. The study was based on the hypothesis that authentic leadership, based on honesty, transparency, self-awareness, and cognitive balance, represents a motivating factor for developing dynamic capabilities among employees, which contributes to enhancing the organization’s adaptation to the rapid changes in its industrial environment.
The study also highlighted the role of authentic leadership in promoting innovation, organizational learning, and the development of internal processes, and its impact on overall corporate performance. The results showed that this leadership style contributes to establishing trust and belonging within the workplace, providing fertile ground for the growth of dynamic capabilities and constituting a fundamental pillar of competitive advantage.
The study recommended that adopting authentic leadership models in Iraqi industrial organizations represents both an ethical and strategic choice, through which human resources can be developed and corporate goals aligned with market challenges can be achieved. Al Furat Company is a successful model that demonstrates the importance of investing in authentic leadership as an effective tool for sustainable growth and development.
