The Al-Mussaib Technical Institute organized a specialized training course entitled:
“Specifications of Reinforcing Steel and Testing Methods According to American Standards”,
with the participation of a group of students from the institute, and delivered by Dr. Ammar Abdul Amir.
Course Topics:
- Introduction to the American standards for reinforcing steel.
- Overview of the mechanical and chemical properties required to ensure the efficiency and safety of construction materials.
- Explanation of laboratory and field testing methods used to evaluate the quality of reinforcing steel.
- Clarification of the types, grades, and acceptance/rejection criteria of reinforcing steel.
- Presentation of key practical tests such as:
- Tensile test
- Bending test
- Study of physical properties
- Linking theoretical aspects with practical applications to enhance participants’ understanding.
Course Objectives:
- Provide students with up-to-date knowledge of international standards for reinforcing steel.
- Improve practical skills in engineering testing methods.
