Under the direct guidance of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al‑Zubaidi, Al‑Furat Al‑Awsat Technical University, through its Electronic Computing Center, organized an introductory workshop on the newly launched university application, with the participation of the heads of IT divisions from the university’s seventeen formations.
Supervised by the University’s Scientific Assistant, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai, the workshop introduced the application, its objectives, and explained its mechanisms of operation and management, as well as how to handle and respond to submitted requests. It also addressed several technical and organizational aspects related to the use of the application and its activation across all university formations.
This workshop comes within the university’s orientation toward strengthening digital transformation, developing electronic communication channels, and providing university services with greater speed and efficiency.
Assistant Professor Dr. Taameem Hameed Ubaida, Director of the Center, explained that the main objectives of the application include:
Establishing an official, unified digital platform representing the university and its seventeen formations.
Facilitating access for students, faculty, and staff to university news, announcements, and academic/administrative activities.
Enhancing communication speed between the university presidency and its formations, ensuring instructions and notifications reach the intended audiences.
Organizing the publication of news and announcements through authorized IT division accounts.
Providing a direct channel for receiving requests, proposals, and inquiries, and ensuring electronic follow‑up.
Supporting digital transformation and reducing reliance on paper procedures and informal communication.
Documenting the activities of the university and its formations, highlighting academic, scientific, and community achievements.
Improving the quality of university services and offering a secure, user‑friendly digital experience.
The workshop’s lecturer, Assistant Professor Dr. Saif Hussam Abdulwahid, outlined future plans for the application, including:
Launching the “Academic Transparency Portal” to strengthen direct communication between students and the university presidency, assistants, and deans.
Developing the “Electronic Notebook” to serve faculty members and organize academic activities and follow‑ups.
Expanding the authorities of formation administrations and linking them to a central management system under the university presidency.
Gradually adding new electronic services for students, faculty, and staff.
Enhancing the notification system to target specific formations and beneficiary groups.
Providing indicators and statistical reports to assist the university presidency in monitoring and decision‑making.
Strengthening integration with the official university website and other digital platforms.
Continuously updating the application according to user needs and technological developments, aiming to achieve a comprehensive digital university platform.
