About the Department of Electrical technologies








The Electrical Technology Department is a key institution at the Technical Institute/Al-Musayyab, as it is a leading scientific and technological department that graduates technical cadres in the electrical technology/power branch, capable of handling electrical power systems and their application and maintenance for the public and private sectors. The department also strives for excellence in performance and quality education. It works to develop appropriate curricula to keep pace with developments and prepare students scientifically, practically, and technically to meet the demands of the labor market. The department participates in and implements courses, seminars, and workshops held at the Continuing Education Center at the institute.







Department Vision:


The department has a clear vision of the current and future needs of society in general and the electric power sector in particular, and the scientific, qualitative, and technical specifications required for graduates, as well as scientific plans to meet these needs.


Department Mission:


To graduate competent technicians who are qualified to perform their assigned technical tasks, capable of innovation and creative solutions, responsive to labor market demands, and able to compete with their peers from other universities while adhering to professional ethics.
To open up to companies and directorates of the Ministry of Electricity and the Ministry of Industry to integrate theoretical and applied technical knowledge.



Department Objectives:


The overall objectives of the Electrical Technology Department/Power Branch stem from the growing importance of the electricity sector. Electric power is the cornerstone of civilized and economic progress, providing services that meet people's material and service needs. Therefore, the department aims to achieve the following:
1. Prepare technical professionals capable of effectively contributing to the operation and management of electrical networks in the following areas:
2. Generating electrical power in thermal, gas, steam, and hydroelectric power plants
3. Transmitting electrical power via high-voltage towers from generating stations to consumers in cities and villages
4. Working on various types of distribution networks, which include a large number of distribution and power transformers
5. Designing and implementing electrical and lighting installations for commercial and industrial buildings and hospitals.
