Al-Mussaib Technical Institute, a division of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, organized a training course entitled “The Economic Importance of Medicinal Plants and Determinants of Their Production.”
The course aimed to highlight the growing role of medicinal and aromatic plants in supporting the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries, given their increasing economic value in the local and global markets.
The course addressed the most prominent challenges facing the production of these plants, including:
Lack of technical knowledge among those working in the field
Scarce water resources
Limited effective marketing
Lack of specialized scientific research and studies
The lecture was delivered by lecturer Thamer Ahmed, with the participation of a number of institute members, who expressed a clear interest in developing this vital sector and raising awareness of its economic and environmental importance.
