As part of ongoing efforts to develop the scientific and academic infrastructure and enhance the level of library services at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, a specialized committee from the university presidency conducted a field visit to Al-Mussaib Technical Institute. The committee was headed by Assistant Professor Sahera Ayed Abdul Sahib, Director of the Central Library Department at the university presidency, accompanied by an accompanying delegation.

The committee was received by Assistant Professor Dr. Malik Nema Hawas Al-Khazraji, Dean of the Institute, along with the head of the Central Library Unit at the institute.

During the visit, the committee discussed several key topics, including:

Mechanisms for organizing books and academic resources
Electronic lending and cataloging systems
Availability of reading and study halls and their suitability for the needs of students and researchers
The extent of adherence to approved academic standards and keeping pace with the digital transformation in library management

The committee expressed its appreciation for the institute administration’s efforts in providing an integrated learning environment within the library, emphasizing the importance of developing libraries as a pivotal pillar in supporting the educational process and scientific research.

The committee also presented a set of recommendations aimed at improving the quality of performance, most notably:

Updating and expanding information resources
Instituting training programs to develop the skills of library staff

At the conclusion of the visit, the Dean of the Institute commended this initiative, affirming the Institute’s commitment to implementing the directives of the University Presidency and its ongoing efforts to develop the Institute’s library to meet the aspirations of students and affiliates and serve the academic movement at the University.
