The Dialysis Techniques Department was established in the academic year 2025-2026 as one of the clinical medical branches created to meet the needs of the community amid the continuous increase in the number of individuals suffering from kidney failure across Iraq. The department aims to train specialized medical personnel to work in dialysis units and to prepare technical staff capable of providing comprehensive medical care to patients with kidney failure.
The department focuses on training students in the latest dialysis techniques, which rely on the use of specialized intravenous solutions to purify the blood of harmful toxins and waste, compensating for the loss of normal kidney function.
