A graduate of the Civil Technology Department diploma is considered a Technical Civil Engineering Technician who works mainly in project execution and supervision rather than theoretical design. His role combines both field and office tasks, serving as a link between the engineer and the construction site.

  1. Computer-Aided Drafting Branch

The graduate is qualified to:

  • Prepare engineering, architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, sanitary drawings.

  • Draft land surveying maps, road and irrigation maps.

  • Participate in preparing architectural models for civil facilities.

Job title upon first appointment: Assistant Engineering Draftsman (Grade 8, Step 6).

  1. Construction and Building Branch

The graduate is qualified to:

  • Execute various civil works.

  • Conduct laboratory and field tests.

  • Implement maps, surveys, and calculate quantities for civil projects.

Job title upon first appointment: Assistant Surveyor (Grade 8, Step 6).

Main Duties

  • Site supervision: monitoring execution of foundations, columns, bridges, and roads according to drawings.

  • Reading and applying engineering drawings (architectural, structural, services) on site.

  • Managing workers and contractors: organizing daily work and task distribution.

  • Quality control: ensuring materials and execution comply with specifications.

  • Quantity surveying: calculating executed works and preparing daily reports.

  • Laboratory testing: participating in concrete (fresh and hardened), soil, and construction material tests.

  • Occupational safety: ensuring safety procedures are applied on site.

Required Skills

  • Using surveying instruments (Total Station, leveling device).

  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD and Excel.

  • Solid understanding of construction materials and execution methods.

  • Time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work within a team and under pressure.
