The Human Rights Unit at Al-Mussaib Technical Institute organized a training workshop entitled: “An Aware Society… A Protected Nation Against Rumors”, aimed at strengthening media and social awareness of the dangers of rumors, enhancing participants’ ability to verify information, and promoting responsible engagement with circulating news. The program sought to safeguard social cohesion and reinforce values of unity and national solidarity.

The workshop addressed several key themes, including the concept of rumors, their types and characteristics, and the reasons behind their spread—particularly through social media platforms. It also highlighted their negative impact on community security and economic stability. In addition, the training focused on equipping participants with critical thinking skills and practical tools to detect and counter false information.

The sessions emphasized the vital role of individuals, educational institutions, and media organizations in combating rumors, fostering a culture of awareness and digital responsibility, and building a society capable of resisting misinformation and protecting the nation from its risks.

The workshop was delivered by lecturer Amjad Ismail, Head of the Follow-up Division at the Institute, with the participation of a group of students.
